Every SiFi card has an expiry date, which determines how long the card remains valid. Expiry can be set in two ways:
SiFi allows you to set a custom expiry date when creating a card.
👉 This is useful for:
Projects → Issue a card valid only during the project timeline.
Events / Business Trips → Create cards that expire once the event or visit ends.
Temporary Access → Assign cards to contractors or interns with a clear end date.
You can set a start date and an end date when creating the card.
Once the card crosses the expiry date, it automatically moves to Card Expired status.
You can view the expiry date in the Card Overview and in all relevant screens (including during activation).
In addition to custom expiry, every SiFi card also has a default Mastercard network expiry:
All cards are issued with a 5-year expiry period from the date of issuance.
Once the card reaches this date, it will expire and cannot be used.
Currently, we recommend creating a new card manually once it is expired.
🔜 Soon, SiFi will support automatic card replacement at the time of Mastercard expiry.

Custom expiry is controlled by your company during card creation.
Mastercard expiry is fixed by the card network (5 years).
Once a card is expired, it cannot be reactivated, a new card must be created or issued.
Expired cards remain visible in the system for record keeping but are not usable.
